Präimplantationsdiagnostik: Künftig in Ausnahmefällen zulässig

Künftig dürfen Gentests an künstlich erzeugten Embryos durchgeführt werden. Das gilt zum Beispiel dann, wenn bei Paaren die Gefahr einer Tod- oder Fehlgeburt besteht oder wenn sie die Veranlagung für eine schwerwiegende Erbkrankheit in sich tragen. Der Bundesrat hat am 23.09.2011 das entsprechende Gesetz zur Präimplantationsdiagnostik (PID) gebilligt.

Die PID bietet die medizinische Möglichkeit, schwere Erbkrankheiten und Chromosomenanomalien an den Embryonen noch vor deren Implantation zu erkennen. Das Gesetz erklärt die PID in Ausnahmefällen für zulässig. Sie darf aber nur an zugelassenen Zentren durchgeführt werden. Anzahl und Zulassungsvoraussetzungen der PID-Zentren regelt die Bundesregierung.
